I lead a program focused on ensuring my unit’s preparedness to respond to biosecurity emergencies and natural disasters. I have significant response experience and am an approved Operations Officer.

I worked on AgVic AI and khapra responses and now am in BQ’s Preparedness team. My experience spans legislation, field ops, and planning.

Alex has worked in ops, policy, management and comms for Biosecurity Tasmania. His emergency response experience includes field team leader, local control centre ops officer and IMT logs officer.

I am a regional biosecurity manager within Agriculture Victoria, based in Bendigo, VIC. I have worked in the operational (primarily plant) biosecurity space for 15 years.

I work for Central Tablelands Local Land Services NSW as an Emergency Management Coordinator, with experience in biosecurity and disaster response for floods, storms, and fires.

Catherine has worked extensively in emergency responses including animal, plant, invasives and foodborne pests and diseases as an epidemiologist and recently as intelligence officer.

I’ve been in the PIRSA communications team for 12 years with a focus on Public Information since 2021, including several biosecurity responses and assisting with public information training.

Have been with PIRSA for 4.5 years and throughout this time I have been heavily involved in a variety of emergency responses and undertaken numerous positions in the Operations Function

Coralie Todd is the Senior Project Officer in Qld’s Office of the Chief Veterinary Office. I also work in Logistics at the SDCC and volunteer for Community Recovery.

Damian Ellson has a military and policing background, but now works in biosecurity as a Logistics Manager in Perth, responding to incidents, as well as animal welfare related matters.

Dave has lived in north Queensland for most of his adult life, and spends a fair bit of time in the tropical rainforest chasing weeds for BQ, and the greater good!

Emily has been at Agriculture Victoria for 19 years and is in Plant Emergency Preparedness and Response. She has been Planning Officer for biosecurity, natural hazard and agriculture relief responses.

I’m a contributor to Biosecurity Response Preparedness for Biosecurity Queensland. My response experience is in Operations, Planning and Logistics in biosecurity and natural disasters.

Lisa is a Senior Project Officer in the Queensland Department of Primary Industries Biosecurity Response Preparedness team. With over 22 years experience in biosecurity, Lisa started her career in the Plant biosecurity market access world, working in administrative roles before undertaking a nationally funded position of Executive Officer for the Domestic Certification Services Working Group. Since 2014 Lisa has worked on over 14 high profile biosecurity and disaster responses and preparedness projects including but not limited to, Panama TR4, White Spot Disease, FMD Preparedness Project and the African Swine Fever Prevention and Preparedness Project, the latter of which recently won an Australian Biosecurity Award in the Government Category. Lisa’s response experience extends across planning, coordination, systems, monitoring and logistics. In her current role, Lisa oversees the Biosecurity Queensland State Coordination Centre, develops and delivers response training and exercises as well as management and development of response resources such as documentation and IT systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness in biosecurity management. Lisa plays a key role in mentoring staff, providing guidance, and ensuring that teams are well-prepared for high-pressure response situations.

Veterinarian specializing in epidemiology, biosecurity, and emergency animal disease response, with experience in Brazil and Australia, offering a transnational perspective on animal health.

Louise is an engagement and communication professional with more than 20 years’ experience. Working with BQ for 11 years, she has led the public information function for various biosecurity incidents.

My experience Varroa 2023, Black Summer 2020, Panama Disease 2015, regular skills training, and a successful NBRT tenure 2021-24 has helped me build a wide body of biosecurity response knowledge.

My current role focuses on wildlife health in SA; prior to this I was in the EAD Prep Team. Prior to PIRSA, I was in the zoo and wildlife industry in Australasia, Europe, Africa and North America.

With a background in animal biosecurity, I have been involved in the Operations function for biosecurity responses including Avian Influenza, White Spot and Varroa Mite.

Currently working in Incident & Emergency Management, DPIRD WA. Have worked as Incident Controller, Planning Manager & Operations Manager in primarily plant biosecurity emergency preparedness.

I have been involved in emergency response for 7 years. I have gained skills in managing critical situations, particularly in biosecurity and fire.

Rob is an experienced professional in the field of Emergency Management with over 30 years’ experience responding to Public Safety, Fire, Maritime and Biosecurity Emergency Responses.

Just your average government gal who loves her cows and is passionate about biosecurity. Currently working as a Senior Biosecurity Officer with LLS in NSW, rolling out the Sheep and Goat eID program.

I have all-hazards response experience with working within State and Local Government responses including Equine Influenza (NSW DPI), Hendra (multiple responses), Myrtle Rust (NSW/QLD).

Shannon Mulholland is a NSW DPIRD senior plant biosecurity officer. She has extensive experience in emergency management, supporting an evidence-based approach to response efforts for exotic pests.

With over two decades of experience within the Victorian Public Service, I am a seasoned professional in biosecurity services, offering a robust portfolio in project and program management.

Director Extensive Livestock R&D at NSW DPIRD. Leads initiatives to enhance productivity & sustainability. Strong background in agricultural R&D. Dedicated to advancing the sector.

My emergency response experience is mainly in the Incident Controller role. Currently I’m the Senior Investigator at the Agriculture Victoria Animal Health Compliance Team.

I have a background in Horticulture and small -scale Agriculture. I have been involved in incident management- fire since 2010 and then Biosecurity in 2016, where I am a Logistics Officer.

Senior Policy Officer in the Crisis and Emergency Management Branch of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

Emergency Management experience includes IMT, ZEST, SEC Liaison officer and particularly Recovery. Recovery experience includes state responses for Cudlee Creek fires, 2022-23 River Murray Floods.
