This workshop is part of the broader NBRT professional development (PD) program for members. It aims to strengthen the preparedness of Australia’s national biosecurity system by increasing member capability to lead incident management and functional teams within a biosecurity and/or incident response.

NBRT PD Week 2026 will build on learning from the 2025 workshop and provide members with the opportunity to explore, apply and practice their collective understanding of biosecurity emergency response in a simulated environment. Members can expect three and a half days of workshops intended to provide them with an understanding of national response arrangements whilst developing the critical skills required to lead incident management and functional teams during a response. Members will gain hands-on experience through practical activities and group discussions, while also benefiting from valuable insights shared by subject matter experts and past NBRT members during presentations and panel discussions.
